On 20 August 2018 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on Network Rail works) on Hamilton Road, Motherwell from the undernoted roads by reason of works being executed on or near that location.
A723 Hamilton Road, Motherwell North-east bound Carriageway from the extended north-east kerbline of Avon Street to the extended south-west kerbline of A721 West Hamilton Street, Motherwell.
Alternative routes: Vehicles on the south-west side of the closure wishing to access the north-east side of the closure should travel south-westwards on A723 Hamilton Road, eastwards on B754 Airbles Road, north-westwards on A721 Windmillhill Street/ A721 Brandon Street, south-westwards and north-westwards on A721 West Hamilton Street, to the north-east side of the closure.
High Road, Motherwell from the extended north-west kerbline of Hamilton Road northwards for a distance of 26 metres or thereby.
Alternatives routes: Vehicles on High Road wishing to access to the south-west side of the closure should travel northwards on High Road, north-westwards on Farm Street, westwards on Ladywell Road and southwards on Orchard Street on to A723 Hamilton Road.
Vehicles on the A723 Hamilton Road wishing access to High Road should proceed vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be permitted at all times where applicable.
Vehicular access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.
The Order, which will only be effective when appropriate signage is in place, will be operational between 2200 hours and 0800 hours each night from 2200 hours on Saturday, 8 September 2018 and will remain in operation until 0800 hours on Friday, 28 September 2018.
