A723 Hamilton Road, Motherwell - North Lanarkshire Archived

On 25 June 2018 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on carriageway resurfacing works) on A723 Hamilton Road, Motherwell from a point 30 metres south west of the extended west kerbline of The Loaning, north-eastwards to the extended west kerbline of Cameron Street by reason of works being executed on or near that location.

Alternative routes: Vehicles on the south west side of the closure wishing to access the north east side of the closure should proceed south westwards on the A723 Hamilton Road, eastwards on the B754 Airbles Road, north westwards on the A721 Windmillhill Street/Brandon Street/West Hamilton Street then south westwards on the A723 Hamilton Road to the north east side of the closure.

Vehicles on the north east side of the closure wishing to access the south west side of the closure should proceed vice versa.

Vehicles on Malcolm Street/Nigel Street wishing to access the north east side of the closure should proceed north eastwards on Crawford Street, then north westwards on Cameron Street to the north east side of the closure.

Vehicles on the north east side of the closure wishing to access Malcolm Street should proceed vice versa.

Vehicles on Malcolm Street/Nigel Street wishing to access the south west side of the closure should proceed north eastwards on Crawford Street, north westwards on Cameron Street, north eastwards on the A723 Hamilton Road, south eastwards on the A721 West Hamilton Street/Brandon Street/Windmillhill Street, south westwards on the B754 Airbles Road then north eastwards on the A723 Hamilton Road to the south west side of the closure.

Vehicles on the south west side of the closure wishing to access Malcolm Street should proceed vice versa.

Vehicles on Viewpark Road wishing to access the north east side of the closure should proceed northwards on Viewpark Road, north eastwards on Ladywell Road then south eastwards on Douglas Street to the north east side of the closure.

Vehicles on the north east side of the closure wishing to access Viewpark Road should proceed vice versa.

Vehicles on Viewpark Road wishing to access the south west side of the closure should proceed northwards on Viewpark Road, north eastwards on Ladywell Road, south eastwards on Douglas Street, north eastwards on A723 Hamilton Road, south eastwards on A721 West Hamilton Street/Brandon Street/Windmillhill Street, south westwards on the B754 Airbles Road then north eastwards on the A723 Hamilton Road to the south west side of the closure.

Vehicles on the south west side of the closure wishing to access Viewpark Road should proceed vice versa.

Please note the undernoted routes will only be in operation on Saturday, 14 and Sunday 15 July 2018.

Vehicles on The Loaning wishing to access the north east side of the closure should proceed north eastwards on The Loaning, north eastwards on Ladywell Road, then south eastwards on Douglas Street to the north east side of the closure.

Vehicles on the north east side of the closure wishing to access The Loaning should proceed vice versa.

Vehicles on The Loaning wishing to access the south west side of the closure should proceed north westwards on The Loaning, north eastwards on Ladywell Road, south eastwards on Douglas Street, north eastwards on A723 Hamilton Road, south eastwards on A721 West Hamilton Street/Brandon Street/Windmillhill Street, south westwards on B754 Airbles Road then north eastwards on A723 Hamilton Road to the south west side of the closure.

Vehicles on the south west side of the closure wishing to access The Loaning should proceed vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Vehicular access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.

The Order, which will be operational only when signage is in place, will come into operation at 0001 hours on Saturday, 14 July 2018 and will remain in operation until 2359 hours on Sunday, 22 July 2018.
