On 19 February 2018 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on carriageway resurfacing) on Ladywell Road, Motherwell from the extended line of the eastern kerb of The Loaning to the extended line of the western kerb of Douglas Street by reason of works being executed on or near that location.
Alternative Routes: Vehicles on the west side of the closure wishing to travel to the east side of the closure should proceed north westwards on The Loaning, eastwards then southwards on Scotia Street to the east side of the closure.
Vehicles on the east side of the closure wishing to travel to the west side of the closure should proceed vice versa.
Vehicles on Viewpark Road wishing to travel to the west side of the closure should proceed southwards on Viewpark Road, westwards on A723 Hamilton Road then northwards on The Loaning to the west side of the closure.
Vehicles on Viewpark Road wishing to travel to the east side of the closure should proceed southwards on Viewpark Road, westwards on A723 Hamilton Road, northwards on The Loaning and eastwards then southwards on Scotia Street.
Vehicles on Earnock Avenue wishing to travel to the west side of the closure should proceed southwards on Earnock Avenue and Viewpark Road, westwards on A723 Hamilton Road, then northwards on The Loaning to the west side of the closure.
Vehicles on Earnock Avenue wishing to travel to the east side of the closure should proceed southwards on Earnock Avenue and Viewpark Road, westward on A723 Hamilton Road, northwards on The Loaning and eastwards then southwards on Scotia Street to the east side of the closure.
Vehicles on Wellview Drive wishing to travel to the west side of the closure should proceed southwards on Wellview Drive, westwards on Cunningham Street, southwards on Viewpark Road, westwards on A723 Hamilton Road and northwards on The Loaning to the west side of the closure.
Vehicles on Wellview Drive wishing to travel to the east side of the closure should proceed southwards on Wellview Drive, westwards on Cunningham Street, southwards on Viewpark Road, westwards on A723 Hamilton Road, northwards on The Loaning and eastwards then southwards on Scotia Street to the east side of the closure.
Access and egress to Lamlash Place will be permitted to the west or east depending on works, however there may be times when access is delayed due to the nature of the operations.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
The Order will come into operation at 0001 hours on Monday, 5 March 2018 and will remain in operation until 2359 hours on Sunday, 31 March 2018.
