On 19 July 2017 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on Bridge Strengthening and Barrier Installation Works) on Banton Road, Banton from a point 150 metres or thereby, north east of its junction with the A803 Kilsyth Road, north eastwards for a distance of 900 metres or thereby by reason of works being executed on or near that location.

Alternative routes: Vehicles on the north east side of the closure wishing to travel to the south west side of the closure should proceed north eastwards on Banton Road and Mill Road, south eastwards on Main Street and Kelvinhead Road, south westwards on A803 Kilsyth Road and north westwards then north eastwards on Banton Road to the south west side of the closure. 

Vehicles on the south west side of the closure wishing to travel to the north east side of the closure should proceed vice versa. 

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. 

The Order will come into operation at 0800 hours on Monday, 31 July 2017 and will remain in operation until 1800 hours on Friday, 13 October 2017.
