On 22 August 2016 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on bridge replacement works) on Station Road, Shotts from the extended line of the eastern kerb of Regal Grove eastwards for a distance of 120 metres or thereby by reason of works being executed on or near that location.

Alternative routes: Vehicles on the east side of the closure wishing to travel to the west side of the closure should proceed south eastwards on Station Road, north then north westwards on B717 Benhar Road, south westwards on Calderhead Road, south eastwards on Shottskirk Road then eastwards on Station Road to the west side of the closure. 

Vehicles on the west side of the closure wishing to travel to the east side of the closure should proceed vice versa.  

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times via a temporary pedestrian footbridge. 

Waiting and Loading Restrictions

No vehicle shall be permitted to (a) wait at any time or (b) load between the hours of 7.30am and 9.30 am and 3.30pm and 6.00pm on the undernoted roads by reason of works being executed on or near those locations.

Station Road, Shotts

From the point that it meets Shottskirk Road, south eastwards for a distance of 228 metres or thereby on both sides of the road.

From a point 21 metres or thereby, east of the extended line of the eastern kerb of Regal Grove, westwards for a distance of 28 metres or thereby on the south side of the road.

Shottskirk Road, Shotts

From the extended line of the north eastern kerb of Station Road, northwards for a distance of 45 metres or thereby on both sides of the road.

The Order, which will be in operation only when displayed by signs, will come into operation at 0001 hours on Sunday, 11 September 2016 and will remain in operation until 2359 hours on Wednesday, 16 August 2017.
