A89 Coatbridge Road

On 23 January 2017 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of emergency service vehicles and vehicles engaged on M8/M73/M74 Improvement Works) on A89 Coatbridge Road, Coatbridge from the extended line of the western kerb of A752 Langmuir Road, westwards to the North Lanarkshire Council Boundary at the M73 Overbridge, a distance of 620 metres or thereby by reason of works being executed on or near that location.

Alternative routes: Vehicles on the east side of the closure wishing to travel to A89 Coatbridge Road at the west side of the closure should proceed south eastwards on A752 Langmuir Road, eastwards on the A8 westbound on-slip road, north westwards on A8 Glasgow and Edinburgh Road, westwards on A8 off-ramp to Baillieston Interchange then westwards on Glasgow and Edinburgh Road to A89 Coatbridge Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation at 0001 hours on Friday, 10 February 2017 and will remain in operation until 2359 hours on Friday, 5 May 2017.
