North Ayrshire Council - Grass Cutting Scheme 2017 

North Ayrshire Council is now accepting applications to the Council's Grass Cutting Scheme, which is limited to grass and hedge cutting. 

The scheme covers cutting grass of an area no bigger than 150 square metres and hedges where they border a path.  No weeding or planting is provided for however, we will maintain gardens to an acceptable standard.  Due to the limited number of gardens to be included on the scheme, applications will be accepted on a "first come first served basis". 

To be eligible the applicants must permanently reside at the property and meet the following eligibility criteria: 

Be aged 75 and over. 

Or 

Aged 65 and over and in receipt of Attendance Allowance (higher rate) or free personal care.  

Or 

Aged under 65 and in receipt of DLA mobility (higher rate) or care (highest rate). 

Or 

Aged under 65 and in receipt of PIP mobility (enhanced rate) or daily living component (enhanced rate). 

To apply contact the Council online at www.north-ayrshire.gov.uk/grasscuttingscheme or by telephone from Monday 13 February 2017 on 01294 310000.  An assessment of eligibility will be made during the application process and payment for the scheme will be taken.  

Applications will close on Friday 10 March 2017.  Applicants from previous years are not automatically re-enrolled on the scheme and are required to re-apply.  The grass cutting scheme will commence on Monday 3 April and terminate Friday 29 September 2017.
