THE MORAY COUNCIL (SECTION OF EDGAR ROAD, ELGIN) PART-TIME 20MPH SPEED LIMIT ORDER 2018

The Moray Council propose to make the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.

The general effect will be to prohibit any person from driving or causing or permitting to be driven any vehicle at a speed exceeding 20mph during the school term, when the flashing lights on the signs indicative of the speed limit are activated, on that length of Edgar Road, Elgin as described in the Schedule to the Order.

The Order is being introduced in the interests of road safety, to reduce traffic speeds on that section of Edgar Road adjacent to Greenwards Primary School. The introduction of a Part Time 20mph Speed Limit, which will be supported by flashing signs, will also enhance safety in the vicinity of the new Toucan Crossing.

Full details may be examined at The Access Point, Moray Council Offices, Elgin, Mon-Fri 09:00-17:00 until 14/12/18. Anyone wishing to discuss the proposals should telephone the Contact Centre on 0300 123 4565. Details also available at www.moray.gov.uk or www.tellmescotland.gov.uk. Access to these websites can be obtained at public libraries.

Objectors must state their grounds for objection in writing by 14/12/18 to: Alasdair McEachan, Head of Legal and Democratic Services, High Street, ELGIN, IV30 1BX.
