Notice is hereby given that Midlothian Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which is that for a temporary period to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works, High Street, Bridge Street and West Street will be closed in phases as detailed in the below schedule. The Order which has a maximum duration of 18 months has effect from 25 March 2019 and it is expected that work will take about 3 weeks to complete.

SCHEDULE:

SECTION 1 – High Street will be closed between St Mungo’s Church and Bridge Street in 2 phases. Phase 1 is 25-29 March 2019. Phase 2 is 1-5 April 2019. Phase 3 is 8-12 April 2019.

SECTION 2 - (i) Bridge Street will be closed between High Street and The Square and (ii) West Street will be closed from High Street to outside 33 West Street. Phase 1 is 23 & 24 March 2019. Phase 2 is 6 & 7 April 2019. Phase 3 is 13 April 2019.

Pedestrian access will be maintained. The alternative routes for buses and general traffic are as follows:-
