Gorebrisge Xmas Lights - Midlothian Archived

Midlothian Council have made the above Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, will come into force on Sunday 2nd December 2018 between 16.30hrs and 17.30hrs and have an effect only as long as it takes the procession to pass along the route through each junction and when the participants have passed through each one along the route, normal traffic movement will be resumed. The restriction is required to facilitate the holding of a relevant event, being the Gorebridge Christmas Lights Switch On Parade.

 

When the Order comes into effect the restriction will be enforced as the procession moves along the following roads:

 

1. Newbyres Crescent - Leisure Centre to Gore Avenue

    

2. Gore Avenue - Newbyres Crescent to Hunterfield Road

 

1. Hunterfield Road – Gore Avenue to Hunter Squaer

 

The roads are being restricted for road safety reasons.

The road restrictions will be indicated by appropriate traffic signs or under the instruction of a police officer in uniform.

Emergency vehicles attending an emergency call are exempt from this order.

During the event, local access will be retained for residents along the affected routes.

No alternative route signing will be provided during these road restrictions

MIDLOTHIAN COUNCIL HEREBY GIVE NOTICE UNDER SECTION 14(2) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, AS AMENDED, THAT FOR THE REASON SET OUT IN SECTION 14(1)(a) OF THAT ACT AND TO ALLOW FOR THE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH ON HUNTER SQUARE BETWEEN THE JUNCTIONS WITH HUNTERFIELD ROAD AND VOGRIE ROAD WILL BE CLOSED TO THROUGH TRAFFIC BETWEEN 16.30HRS AND 17.30HRS ON SUNDAY 2 DECEMBER 2018

 

THE ALTERNATIVE ROUTE FOR VEHICULAR TRAFFIC SHALL BE BY WAY OF HUNTERFIELD ROAD, GORE AVENUE, BURNSIDE ROAD, HILLSIDE CRESCENT NORTH, ARNPRIOR ROAD, VOGRIE CRESCENT SOUTH AND LOWER BONNYBANK ROAD

 

EMERGENCY VEHICLES ATTENDING AN EMERGENCY CALL ARE EXEMPT FROM THIS ORDER

 

NO ALTERNATIVE ROUTE SIGNING WILL BE PROVIDED DURING THIS TEMPORARY RESTRICTION.

 

PEDESTRIAN ACCESS SHALL BE MAINTAINED.

 

THIS NOTICE HAS A MAXIMUM DURATION OF 1 DAY.
