The Midlothian Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is that for a temporary period to facilitate gas mains renewal works by Scotland Gas Networks, the junction of Dundas Road where it meets Larkfield Road will be closed. The Order which has a maximum duration of 18 months has effect from 13 February 2017 and it is expected that the work will take about 16 weeks to complete. Alternative routes for general vehicular traffic will be via Larkfield Road, Lasswade Road and Dundas Crescent, Eskbank, Dalkeith.
