The Midlothian Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is that for a temporary period to allow a site investigation and roundabout construction for a new housing development, Mauricewood Road will be closed between the Boyd Orr Drive and Belwood Road junctions. The Order which has a maximum duration of 18 months has effect from 16 January 2017 and it is expected that the work will take about 12 weeks to complete. Pedestrian access will be maintained. Alternative routes for general vehicular traffic will be via Belwood Road, A701, A766, Bush Loan Road and A702.
