(Temporary Restriction to Use of Road)
Order 2019

On the 30 May 2019 the Council made the above named Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 in the interests of safety due to works proposed to be executed on or near a section of the A726 GSO at Maidenhill, Newton Mearns.

The Order will introduce a 50mph speed limit on the following sections of carriageway to enable and facilitate works directly adjacent to the GSO, pertaining to establishment of road safety barriers, acoustic fencing and signing and lighting etc.
A) Eastbound from a point 20m or thereby from its junction with the M77 roundabout junction (termination of existing 40mph limit) in an eastward direction for a distance of 805m or thereby.
B) Westbound from a point 825m or thereby east from its junction with the M77 roundabout junction to a point 150m or thereby east of its junction with the M77 roundabout junction (limits of existing 40mph limit)

The restrictions will commencing 20 June 2019 and will remain in effect for a maximum period of up to 18 months, as permitted by legislation.
