(Temporary Restriction to Use of Road)
Order 2018
On the 6th June 2018 the Council made the above named Order under, Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to facilitate essential surfacing works on Main Street, Thornliebank from and including its junction with Spiersbridge Avenue up to and including its junction with Crosslees Drive and on a section of Eastwood Crescent, Thornliebank.
The Order will be in effect from Saturday 30 June until Sunday 15 July 2018 inclusive or on completion of the works if sooner.
The Order will authorise the temporary closures of a number of side road junctions and accesses with Main Street, including sections of Kennishead Road and Eastwood Crescent, only whilst resurfacing works are being carried out across each of these junctions and on Eastwood Crescent.
However, in order to accommodate local access necessary to facilitate essential servicing of business and properties on Kennishead Road and Eastwood Crescent, the One-Way system of operation on both of these roads will be temporarily suspended where and when indicated with appropriate signs.
The Temporary Order will permit the following:
(i) The temporary closure of a number of side road junctions and accesses with Main Street between its junctions with Spiersbridge Avenue and Crosslees Drive including:
Library Lane, Spiers Grove, Thorntree Hall Car Park, St. Vincent De Paul RC Church Car Park, Kennishead Road, Eastwood Crescent, Main Street secondary carriageway fronting property No’s 50-60 including Hillside Court, McDonald’s Restaurant Car Park, Cooperative Funeral Care Car Park.
(ii) The temporary closure of Kennishead Road between its junctions with Summerlea Road and Main Street - local access will be permitted for servicing of properties,
(iii) The temporary closure of Eastwood Crescent from its junction with Main Street for a distance of 25 metres or thereby - local access will be permitted for servicing of properties,
(iv) The suspension of the One-Way System of Operation on Kennishead Road between Summerlea Road and Main Street to enable access for servicing of properties located within this section of road,
(v) The suspension of the One-Way System of Operation on Eastwood Crescent between its junction with Main Street for a distance of 25 metres or thereby to enable access for servicing of properties located within this section of road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
