East Lothian Council intention to undertake carriageway repair works on the above road. It is anticipated the works will start on Monday 18th November 2019 for approximately two weeks, weather permitting.
In order to comply with current Health & Safety legislation, it will be necessary to close the road to through vehicular traffic.
A local diversion route will be signed accordingly.
Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times.
For their own safety pedestrians should not enter the works area (within the carriageway) during the works. Please note that before the final surface layer is laid, the existing surface will be sprayed with a black bituminous emulsion which becomes very sticky. Please be aware (and make other family members aware) that this material should be avoided as it will readily stick to soles of footwear, bicycle tyres, pet’s paws, etc and is very difficult to remove.
