East Lothian Council will be undertaking carriageway resurfacing works on the above road commencing on Wednesday 11th October 2017 for three weeks, weather permitting.
In order to comply with current Health & Safety legislation, it will be necessary to close the road to through vehicular traffic during working hours, Monday to Thursday 08:30 to 16:30 and Friday 08:30 to 13:00.
No restrictions will be in place on Saturdays & Sundays
Refuse and recycling bins will be emptied as normal, however please ensure bins or boxes are out for 6am on collection days. Vehicular access to properties will be maintained where practicable. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
For their own safety, pedestrians should not enter the works area (within the carriageway) during the works. Please note that before the final surface layer is laid, the existing surface will be sprayed with a black bituminous emulsion, which becomes sticky. Please be aware (and make other family members aware) that this material should be avoided as it will stick to soles of footwear, bicycle tyres, pet’s paws, etc. and is difficult to remove.
