THE EAST LOTHIAN COUNCIL STOPPING UP AND DIVERSION OF FOOTPATHS AND PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY LE159 AND LE160 ORDER 2023

Notice is hereby given that East Lothian Council have made Orders under sections 207 and 208 of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 to permanently stop up the Marlke Mains level crossing and section of Markle Mains Road U159 and to stop up and divert public footpaths and rights of way LE159 and LE160.

The stopping up of the road and the level crossing and the stopping up and diversion of the public rights of way are required to implement planning permission reference 22/01328/P for the formation of a diversionary road, erection of an overbridge crossing (to facilitate closure of the level crossing) and associated works.

A copy of the Orders and the accompanying plan showing the length of road to be stopped up and footpaths and rights of way to be diverted has been deposited at East Lothian Council, Legal Services Department, John Muir House, Brewery Court, Haddington, where they are available for inspection free of charge during normal office hours for the period of 28 days from the date of first publication of this notice (18 May 2023). The notice is also available to view on www.tellmescotland.gov.uk

Any person may within 28 days from the date of first publication of this Notice object to the making of these Orders by notice in writing to East Lothian Council, Legal Services Department, John Muir House, Brewery Court, Haddington, EH41 3HA or emailing environment@eastlothian.gov.uk.  Objections should state the name and address of the objector, the matters to which they related and the grounds on which they are made. If no representations or objections in respect of these Orders are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn within said period, the Orders may be confirmed by East Lothian Council as unopposed orders.
