(SPRINGFIELD ROAD AND ARNOLD AVENUE, BISHOPBRIGGS – TEMPORARY CLOSURES AND, SPRINGFIELD ROAD AND ARNOLD AVENUE, BISHOPBRIGGS

TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF ONE WAY OPERATIONS)

ORDER 2020

On the 7 July 2020  the East Dunbartonshire Council made the above named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of  those vehicles detailed in Schedule 1) on the lengths of road described in Schedule 1, by reason of works being executed on or near this road.

Alternative Route

Alternative routes for vehicles are by way of Muir Street, Emerson Road, Emerson Road West, Lee Crescent, Crowhill Road, the B812 Auchinairn Road, Colston Road, the A803 Kirkintilloch Road in Bishopbriggs.  Springfield Road, Callieburn Road, Beech Road in Bishopbriggs, will also be used as alternative routes.  These routes will be signposted.

Temporary Suspension of One Way

Schedule 12 of the "East Dunbartonshire Council (Bishopbriggs) (Traffic Management Consolidation) Order 2013 is temporarily suspended to allow two way operation on the lengths of roads detailed in Schedule 2 and will be controlled by operatives.

This Order will operate from (i) 08.00 hours until 17.00 hours on Monday, 20 July and Tuesday, 21 July 2020; (ii) 08.00 hours on Wednesday, 22 July until 17.00 hours on Thursday, 23 July 2020; and (iii) 08.00 hours until 17.00 hours each day, from Friday, 24 July until Sunday, 26 July 2020.

SCHEDULE 1

  1. Springfield Road, Bishopbriggs - Closed between the extended east kerbline and west kerbline of Arnold Avenue.  Access to the closed section of road will only be maintained for vehicles engaged in the works.
  2. Springfield Road, Bishopbriggs - Closed between the extended west kerbline of Muir Street and the extended east kerbline of Arnold Avenue.  Access to the closed section of road will be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed section of road.

3. Arnold Avenue, Bishopbriggs - Closed between the extended south kerbline of Springfield Road and the extended north kerbline of Emerson Road West.  Access to the closed section of road will be maintained for emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged on the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed section of road.

SCHEDULE 2

    1. Springfield Road, Bishopbriggs between its junction with Muir Street and Arnold Avenue.
    2. Arnold Avenue, Bishopbriggs between its junctions with Springfield Road and Emerson Road West.
