NOTICE OF GENERAL EXTENSIONS OF LICENSED HOURS
In terms of Section 67 of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005, East Dunbartonshire Licensing Board has determined that it is appropriate to grant general extensions of licensed hours for the Platinum Jubilee holiday weekend. The extensions are as follows:
Nightclub premises will be allowed to open until 3.00am on the morning of 4 June 2022 and the morning of 5 June 2022;
Entertainment premises will be allowed to open until 2.30am on the morning of 4 June 2022 and the morning of 5 June 2022;
Members’ clubs will be allowed to open until 2.00am on the morning of 4 June 2022 and the morning of 5 June 2022; and
All other on-sales premises will be allowed to open until 2.00am on the morning of 4 June 2022 and the morning of 5 June 2022.
This extension will only apply to on-sales and not to off-sales of alcohol.
There will be no general extensions beyond this although any applications for extended hours outwith the general extension will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
There is no need for licensees to apply for the general extensions set out above.
On-sales premises can utilise these hours to the extent they consider appropriate.
Licensees are reminded of the Board’s Supplementary Statement of Licensing Policy which was approved on 17 September 2021. A copy of the Supplementary Statement can be obtained at:
https://www.eastdunbarton.gov.uk/business/licensing-permits/statement-licensing-policy
The Supplementary Statement sets out matters the Board will have regard to for on-sale premises applying to extend their terminal licensed hours to 1am or later. This includes different considerations to ensure premises are run in a safe manner for both staff and customers including consideration of late night transport arrangements for staff. It is requested that Licensees who intend to make use of the extended hours on 4 and 5 June 2022 have regard to the Supplementary Statement and the issues detailed in it.
