(Temporary Road Closure & Prohibition of Waiting) Notice 2023
NOTICE is hereby given under Section 14(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (East Ayrshire Council) Designation Order 2012 and the Road Traffic Act 1991 as amended, and of all other enabling powers which will prohibit waiting on the following lengths of road to allow for carriageway resurfacing:–
Name & affected length of road – Meiklewood Road, Kilmarnock:- From junction with Onthank Drive to junction with Muirend Road.
No Waiting - Meiklewood Road, Kilmarnock:- From junction with Onthank Drive to junction with Muirend Road, both sides of road.
Nature and period of restriction - Road Closure & Prohibition of Waiting At Any Time
This Notice commences on 20 November 2023 and has a maximum duration of 5 days or until the works are completed, whichever is sooner. The works are expected to commence from 20 November 2023 at 08:00 with the restrictions remaining until 24 November 2023 at 17:00.
The days and times of the works may be dependent upon the weather conditions but the Notice will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed.
Emergency Services access will not be affected and access for residents, deliveries and pedestrians’ out-with the working zone will be maintained.
Alternative route - Signed via Muirend Road, Tourhill Road and Onthank Drive and vice versa in both directions.
