Order 2023

On 23 May 2023 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (East Ayrshire Council) Designation Order 2012 and the Road Traffic Act 1991 and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order to allow Carriageway Resurfacing 

Temporary Road Closure – A735 Dunlop to Stewarton Road, Dunlop, Road Closure - 1km between the U26 Clerkland Road and Dunlop.

No Waiting At Any Time -  No Waiting Restrictions - 250 metres From Dunlop Kirk to Kirkland Road, Dunlop..

The Order commences on Monday 12 June 2023 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the works are completed, whichever is earlier. The works are expected to commence from Monday 12 June 2023 at 08:00 until Sunday 25 June 2023 at 18:00

The road is expected to be closed between 08:00 and 18:00 each day with it being open out-with these times. 

  • During the road closure period there will be no access to or from the adjacent junctions at the U39 Gouknest Road or C7 Neilston Roads. 
  • A Prohibition of Waiting Order will be implemented on Main Street Dunlop, between the Kirk and Kirkland Road to alleviate any congestion.

The days and times of the works may be dependent upon the weather conditions but the Order will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed.

Emergency Services access will not be affected.

 Local access for residents within the works zone will be maintained when safe to do so 

An alternative route will be signed via For Non-High Sided Vehicles, Traffic Shall Proceed via B778 from Stewarton, A736 Auchentiber, before re-joining the A735 Lugton to Dunlop and vice versa.

For High Sided Vehicles Requiring Access to and from Dunlop shall proceed via B706 in both directions.
