(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2022
On 23/08/22 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order, which will make it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle (including pedal cycles) on the following roads in Auchinleck and Cumnock by reason of works to be executed on or near the road.
The Order which shall come into force at 08:00 hrs on 27/08/22 will be implemented in consecutive phases (as listed below). The Order will remain in force until 18:00 hrs on 14/10/22, or until the works are completed whichever is earlier. Works are currently programmed to be completed by 02/10/22 and the Order will be implemented only when appropriate signs are displayed.
It is possible that some of the roads may need to be kept closed overnight to allow night working. When possible however the closed roads will be reopened between 18:00 and 08:00hrs the following day and no works are programmed for September holiday weekend 16/09/22-19/09/22 or on 11/09/22. During each phase a diversion route will be signed. Access to premises within the sections of closed road will be maintained, but may be subject to delays, and at times access may be via the diversion route. For the safety of all road users please follow the instructions of traffic management operatives.
Phase 1 – from 27/08/22 for approximately 2 weeks
Road Closed: U730 Glenshamrock Road between U22 and B705
Alternative Route: via B705, B7083, U22 and vice versa.
Phase 2 – following on from Phase 1 for approximately 2 weeks
Roads Closed: U22 Coal Road between Glenshamrock North and Riverside Gardens, Cronberry and U730 Glenshamrock South
Alternative Route: via A70, B7083 and vice versa.
Phase 3 – following on from Phase 2 for approximately 1 week
Roads Closed: C23 Rigg Road from Roadinghead Cottage southwestwards for approximately 900m and U730 Glenshamrock South
Alternative Route: via A70, B7083 and vice versa.
Pedestrian Access will be maintained but may be subject to delays.
Emergency service access will be maintained via the diversion route
