South Ayrshire Council (Kirkwynd, Maybole) (Temporary Road Closure & Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2022 - East Ayrshire Archived

On 21/04/22 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (South Ayrshire Council) Designation Order 2012 and the Road Traffic Act 1991 and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order to allow BT Openreach contractors to upgrade the local Network that involves a number of full road width excavations:-

Temporary Road Closure – Kirkwynd, entire length (High Street to Abbot Street).

No Waiting At Any Time - Kirkwynd, Both sides: From the entrance to the Co-op Supermarket car park, south-eastwards and south-westwards for a distance of approximately 90 metres.

The Order commences on 2 May 2022 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the works are completed, whichever is earlier. The works are expected to commence from 9.30am Monday 2 May until 3.30pm on Friday 13 May 2022
The road is expected to be closed between 9.30am and 3.30pm each day with it being open out-with these times.

The days and times of the works may be dependent upon the weather conditions but the Order will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed.

Due to the narrowness and nature of the road, it is not possible to temporarily suspend the one-way system to allow two-way traffic. Therefore the contractor will liaise with residents and businesses to maintain access and for deliveries during working hours whenever possible.

Emergency Services access and pedestrian access will not be affected.

An alternative route for through traffic will be signed via High Street, St. Cuthbert’s Road, Abbot Street and John Knox Street in both directions.
