On 22/06/21 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order, which will make it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on any lengths of roads on the days and during the times stated below, by reason of facilitating grass cutting (GC) and resurfacing (RS) works to be executed on or near the road.
ROAD CLOSURES
A71, Kilmarnock (GC works) - from 05:00 hrs until 18:00 hrs on Sat 03/07/21. From Moorfield roundabout to the boundary with North Ayrshire.
Alternative Route: via B7064, B7081 to Crosshouse/Springside/Dreghorn and A71 slip road to Corsehill Mount roundabout and vice versa.
Emergency access will be maintained.
A71, Kilmarnock (GC works) - from 05:00 hrs until 18:00 hrs on Sun 04/07/21. From Moorfield roundabout to Bellfield Interchange.
Alternative Route: via Queens Dr, Hurlford Rd, Campbell St, Low Glencairn St, West Shaw St, McLelland Dr, Dundonald Rd, A759 and B7064 to Moorfield roundabout and vice versa.
Emergency access will be maintained during the above road closures.
It is anticipated at this time that the works will be undertaken on or between the following dates but advance signing will be erected on site to inform the traveling public of the times and dates of each road closure. Every effort will be made to keep the closures to a minimum but dates may need to change as works progress.
A713, Waterside (RS works) closed daily from 20:00 hrs until 06:00 hrs - from 20:00 hrs Mon 05/07/21 until 06:00 hrs on Sun 11/07/21. From the southern end of Waterside southwards for 800 m.
A713, Polnessan, Patna and B730 at its junction with A713 (RS works) closed daily from 20:00 hrs until 06:00 hrs - from 20:00 hrs Mon 12/07/21 until 06:00 hrs on Sun 25/07/21. A713 will be closed from a point 25 m south of B730 northwards to a point 80 m north of Smithston Farm.
Alternative Routes: via A713 to Dalmellington, B741 to New Cumnock, A76 to Dettingen roundabout Cumnock, A70 to Ochiltree (for high sided vehicles to avoid a low bridge (14’ 0”/4.2m) on the A70 at Coalhall they must proceed via U728 to Burnton, B7046 to Drongan, B730 to Coalhall), A70 to Hillhead and B742 to A713 and vice versa.
A713 Waterside and Polnessan, Patna - Emergency access and vehicular access for residents/owners/occupiers within the closure will be permitted to and from their properties only when it is safe to do so and only when directed by a Traffic Marshal to go through the works site.
There will be no access through the B730 junction.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout all the closures.
Expect delays on the A713 Waterside and Polnessan, Patna and B730 as 10 mph convoy will be in place daily between 08:00 hrs and 17:00 hrs.
The Order shall come into force at 05:00 hrs on Sat 03/07/21 until 06:00 hrs on Sun 25/07/21, or until the works are completed whichever is earlier and the Order will be implemented only when appropriate signs are displayed.
