On 02/02/21 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (East Ayrshire Council) Designation Order 2012, and the Road Traffic Act 1991, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order, by reason of resurfacing works to be executed on or near the road.

This Order makes it unlawful-

1. for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on route A70 (from its junction with Lugar St (B7083) north-eastwards and eastwards for 875m to No. 130 Barrhill Rd), starting at 07:00 hrs until 18:00 hrs daily from Sat 20/02/21 until Fri 12/03/21. The road closure will be implemented in two phases with the first phase being between Lugar St and the garage/petrol station, and phase two from the garage/petrol station to No. 130, Barrhill Rd. Signs will be erected on site to confirm the implementation dates. Alternative Route: via A70 towards Muirkirk, B743 to Sorn, B713 to Catrine, B705, B713 to the A76, A76 to Cumnock and A70 and vice versa, and

2. for any vehicle to wait on either side of A70, Cumnock (from a point 100m east of the extended east kerb line of Robertson Avenue eastwards form 645m), starting at 07:00 hrs until 18:00 hrs daily from Sat 20/02/21 until Fri 12/03/21.

Exempt from road closures – Council’s resurfacing vehicles. Emergency access and vehicular access for residents/owners/occupiers within the closure will be permitted to and from their properties only when it is safe to do so and only when directed by a Traffic Marshal to go through the works site.

Exempt from waiting restriction – Council’s resurfacing vehicles and emergency vehicles.

Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the closure period.

The Order shall come into force at 07:00 hrs on 20/02/21 until 18:00 hrs on 12/03/21, or until the works are completed whichever is earlier and the Order will be implemented only when appropriate signs are displayed.
