On 27/10/20 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (East Ayrshire Council) Designation Order 2012, and the Road Traffic Act 1991, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order. This Order will make it unlawful for any vehicles to contravene any of the restrictions on any of the lengths of roads stated below, by reason of facilitating resurfacing works to be executed on or near the road.

Road Closures

No person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on—

Caponacre Rd – from route B7083 south-westwards for 170 m;

Burnside Rd – from Caponacre Rd southeast and south-westwards for 90 m;

Route B7083 – from Cairn Rd to a point 90 m southeast of John Allan Dr, and

Holmburn Rd – from route B7083 north-eastwards to Menzies Av.

Diversion Routes for

Caponacre Rd and Burnside Rd: via Recreation Rd, Cairn Rd and B7083 and vice versa;

Route B7083: via B7083, B7046 Ayr Rd, A70 Ayr Rd, A76 to Skerrington roundabout and B7083 and vice versa, and

Holmburn Rd: via Menzies Av, Ryderston Dr, Lamont Cres, Craigens Rd and B7083 and vice versa.

Prohibition of Waiting and Suspension of One Way Operation

When it is deemed necessary waiting will be prohibited from 09:00 hrs to 18:00 hrs daily on either side of John Allan Dr and may be implemented in part when required. To facilitate access to and egress from John Allan Dr the one way operation will be suspended on John Allan Dr.

The Order shall come into force at 09:00 hrs on 14/11/20 until 18:00 hrs on 29/11/20, or until the works are completed whichever is earlier and the Order will be implemented only when appropriate signs are displayed.

Emergency access will be maintained at all times during the road closures.

Vehicular access for residents/owners/occupiers within the closures will be permitted to and from their properties only when it is considered safe to do so and under the direction of a Traffic Marshal employed by or on behalf of East Ayrshire Council.

Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the closure period.
