On 14/07/20 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (East Ayrshire Council) Designation Order 2012, and the Road Traffic Act 1991, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order. This Order will make it unlawful for any vehicles to contravene any of the restrictions on any lengths of roads stated below, by reason of facilitating resurfacing works to be executed on or near the road.
Road Closures and Prohibition of Waiting
No person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle or cause or permit any vehicle to wait on either side of the road daily from 08:00 hrs until 17:00 hrs on route B7083, from its junction with C23 Rigg Rd to route A70 and on Holmside from its junction with B7083 southwards for 35 m.
Diversion routes will be signed as the phased closures are implemented.
The road closure is going to be phased and every effort will be made to keep the phased closures to a minimum but dates may need to change as works progress. Advance signing will be erected on site to inform traffic of the times and dates of the next phased closure. It is anticipated at this time that the works will be undertaken in the following phases—
PHASE 1 - from 08:00 hrs on Mon 20/07/20 until 17:00 hrs on Wed 22/07/20
B7083: from A70 to Visions Leisure Centre; and Holmside: from B7083 southwards for 35 m.
PHASE 2 - from 08:00 hrs on Thurs 23/07/20 until 17:00 hrs on Fri 24/07/20
B7083: from Visions Leisure Centre to the Footpath to the north of 20, Auchinleck Rd.
PHASE 3 - from 08:00 hrs on Mon 27/07/20 until 17:00 hrs on Tue 28/07/20
B7083: from a point 35 m north of the school entrance to the raised junction at Hoyle Cres.
PHASE 4 - from 08:00 hrs on Wed 29/07/20 until 17:00 hrs on Fri 31/07/20
B7083: from the raised junction at Hoyle Cres to Rigg Rd.
Vehicular access for residents/owners/occupiers within the closures will be permitted to and from their properties when it is safe to do so and when directed by a Traffic Marshal, but not through the works site.
Emergency access will be maintained during the closures and through the works site.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the closures.
The Order shall come into force at 08:00 hrs on 20/07/20 until 17:00 hrs on 09/08/20, or until the works are completed whichever is earlier and the Order will be implemented only when appropriate signs are displayed.
