On 5/1/21 the Council made the DUNDEE CITY COUNCIL (THE ESPLANADE, BROUGHTY FERRY, DUNDEE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2021 under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will prohibit temporarily all vehicular traffic in The Esplanade from a point 160m or thereby from the junction with Bridge St for a distance of 400m or thereby in a westerly direction. The Order is operative for 12 months from 11/1/21 to provide physical distance measures for higher levels of pedestrians and cyclists, with a maximum duration of 18 months. Parking restrictions will be in place on The Esplanade from its junction with Bridge St for a distance of 110m or thereby. Cyclists and pedestrians are unaffected by this order. Alternative route: Bridge St, A930 Dalhousie Rd, A930 Monifieth Rd, Gray St and Brook St.
