On 4/6/13 the Tay Road Bridge Joint Board made THE TAY ROAD BRIDGE (TEMPORARY 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2013 under Section 65 of the Schedule to the Tay Road Bridge Order Confirmation Act 1991 and Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will temporarily impose a 20 mph speed limit from the point of entering the on-ramps from Dock Street when approaching from the West and South Marketgait, and when travelling from the East to the start of the existing 50 mph limit at the Dundee abutment, a distance of 255 metres or thereby. The Order is operative for 7 months from 10/6/13 for the purpose of facilitating works for the redevelopment of Dundee Central Waterfront. Its maximum duration in terms of the Act is eighteen months. Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
