Notice is Hereby given that following a review of the existing taxi fare scales in accordance with Section 17 of the above Act, it is proposed that these scales will be amended as follows with effect from 1 March 2022.

Exclusive Hire

1 .          For the first passenger carried

Tariff 1 (Daytime):-

(a)          For a distance not exceeding 704 yards or 169 seconds of waiting time or a combination of time and distance an initial charge of £3.40.

(b)          for each additional 176 yards or part thereof or 42 seconds of waiting time or part thereof or a combination of time and distance 18p.

Tariff 2 (Evenings Monday-Thursday) (10 pm to 6am):-

(a)          For a distance not exceeding 704 yards or 169 seconds of waiting time or a combination of time and distance an initial charge of £3.74.

(b)          for each additional 176 yards or part thereof or 42 seconds of waiting time or part thereof or a combination of time and distance 20p.

Tariff 3 (Evenings Friday-Sunday) (10pm to 6am):-

(a)          For a distance not exceeding 704 yards or 169 seconds of waiting time or a combination of time and distance an initial charge of £4.08.

(b)          for each additional 176 yards or part thereof or 42 seconds of waiting time or part thereof or a combination of time and distance 22p.

Tariff 4 (Festive Period) (6pm on 24 December to 6am on 27 December and 6pm on 31 December until 6am on 3 January).

(a)          For a distance not exceeding 704 yards or 169 seconds of waiting time or a combination of time and distance an initial charge of £4.76.

(b)          for each additional 176 yards or part thereof or 42 seconds of waiting time or part thereof or a combination of time and distance 25p.

  1. For each passenger carried in excess of the first passenger a charge of 50p.
  2. For each package carried in the luggage compartment, boot or rack (inc bicycles), 50p.

N.B. No charge shall be made for children's buggie or prams, any ".ems designed to assist the mobility of taxi users such as walkers and wheelchairs, a bag or bags containing loose groceries, provisions or shopping carried in a taxi, whether in the luggage compartment, boot or inside the taxi.

  1. A charge of between £25 minimum and £50 minimum to be levied in respect of any passenger soiling a vehicle which results in the vehicle being then out of service for any period of time.
