On Monday 20th May 2019, Argyll and Bute Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 62 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984, made the above named Order the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, for the purpose of facilitating the Helensburgh and Lomond Highland Games, no person shall:- 

1. Drive or cause to or permit to be driven any vehicle through the length of road indicated in schedule 1.

2. Cause or permit a vehicle to wait on any of the lengths of road indicated in schedule 2.

This restrictions imposed by this Order, which will be in operation when indicated by signs between 0800 hours and 1800 hours on Saturday 1st June 2019 is desirable because of considerations of public safety and convenience during the event.

SCHEDULE 1 - PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC (Local access to affected residential properties will be maintained)

Rhu Road Higher  - From its junction with Woodend Street to its junction with the access road to Kathleen Park, a distance of 420 metres or thereby.

Alternative routes will be via adjacent streets and will be signed in an appropriate manner.

SCHEDULE 2 - NO WAITING AT ANY TIME

Rhu Road Higher  - On both sides, from its junction with the access road to Kathleen Park, to its junction with the A814 Gareloch Road, a distance of 490 metres or thereby.

Cumberland Avenue -  On both sides, from its junction with Rhu Road Higher to its junction with Ardencaple Drive, a distance of 190 metres or thereby.

Woodend Street -  On both sides, from its junction with Rhu Road Higher to its junction with West King Street, a distance of 230 metres or thereby.

Contravention of the Order, which may be inspected at the Argyll & Bute Council Offices, Kilmory, Lochgilphead, could result in a penalty of up to £500.
