Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the order is to impose a temporary prohibition of driving on the following streets;
Abbotshall Drive, Aberdeen, from the boundary between number 71 and 73 Abbotshall Drive to the boundary between number 81 and 83 Abbotshall Drive from 09:00 on 18th October, 2022, until 17:00 on 19th October, 2022. An alternative route is available via Friarsfield Road, Abbotshall Road and Abbotshall Crescent; Abbotshall Drive, Aberdeen, from the boundary between number 52 and 54 Abbotshall Drive to the boundary between number 58 and 60 Abbotshall Drive from 09:00 on 20th October, 2022, until 17:00 on 21st October, 2022. An alternative route is available via Abbotshall Crescent, Abbotshall Road and Abbotshall Place; Craigton Road, Aberdeen, from its junction with Friarsfield Road to the entrance for Northcote Lodge Care Home, Local Access only from 09:00 on 24th October, 2022, until 17:00 on 29th October, 2022. An alternative route is available via Springfield Road, North Deeside Road and Abbotshall Road; Abbotshall Crescent, Aberdeen, from the boundary between number 7 and 9 Abbotshall Crescent to the boundary between number 13 and 15 Abbotshall Crescent from 09:00 on 7th November, 2022, until 17:00 on 8th November, 2022. An alternative route is available via Abbotshall Road, Abbotshall Place and Abbotshall Drive; Abbotshall Crescent, Aberdeen, from its junction with Abbotshall Road to the boundary between number 2 and 4 Abbotshall Crescent from 09:00 on 9th November, 2022, until 17:00 on 10th November, 2022. An alternative route is available via Abbotshall Road, Friarsfield Road and Abbotshall Drive; Abbotshall Road, Aberdeen, from its junction with Abbotshall Crescent to the electric substation opposite number 7 Abbotshall Road from 09:00 on 14th November, 2022, until 17:00 on 15th November, 2022. An alternative route is available via Abbotshall Crescent, Abbotshall Drive and Friarsfield Road.
Access to properties will be maintained, but no through traffic will be possible.
There will also be a temporary one-way restriction on Friarsfield Road, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Kirk Brae and Craigton Road from 09:00 on 31st October, 2022, until 17:00 on 5th November, 2022.The permitted direction of travel will be eastbound only. An alternative route for westbound vehicles is available via Springfield Road, North Deeside Road and Kirk Brae.
There will also be a prohibition of waiting on either side on the following streets between 08:00 and 17:00 Mon-Sat; Abbotshall Crescent, Abbotshall Drive, Abbotshall Gardens, Abbotshall Road, Abbotshall Terrace, Abbotshall Walk, Bairds Brae, Cliff Park, Craigton Road, Friarsfield Road, Rocklands Crescent, Rocklands Road, Woodlands Avenue, Aberdeen from 08:00 on 18th October, 2022, until 17:00 on 28th November, 2022.
Illegally parked vehicles will be removed at the owners expense.
The no-waiting restrictions will not be implemented for the full duration of the order and will only be implemented as and when required. The no-waiting restrictions will be demarcated by the use of no-waiting cones for no more than 100 metres at a time. Aberdeen City Council maintain the right to reduce this to 50m on any site should they see it as necessary to maintain public safety/access.

The measures are necessary to protect public safety during duct laying works being carried out by City Fibre.
