Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the order is to impose a temporary prohibition of driving on the following streets;

Huntly Street, Aberdeen, from its junction with Summer Street to the exit for Xodus House from 09:00 on 21st June, 2022, until 17:00 on 22nd June, 2022. An alternative route is available via Union Street, South Silver Street, Golden Square and Crimon Place. The one-way system on Huntly Street, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Union Street and Summer Street will be suspended to allow egress from properties. There will be a prohibition of right turns from Huntly Street, Aberdeen on to Union Street. An alternative route is available via Union Street, South Silver Street and Golden Square; Little Chapel Street, Aberdeen, from its junction with Summer Street to a point 10 metres in a westerly direction from 09:00 on 29th June, 2022, until 17:00 on 30th June, 2022. An alternative route is available via Summer Street, Union Row, Union Street, Rose Street, Thistle Street and Chapel Street; Huntly Street, Aberdeen, from the boundary between number 19 and 21 Huntly Street to the boundary between number 37 and 39 Huntly Street from 09:00 on 1st July, 2022, until 17:00 on 2nd July, 2022. An alternative route is available via Union Street, South Silver Street, Golden Square and Crimon Place. The one-way system on Huntly Street, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Union Street and Summer Street will be suspended to allow egress from properties. There will be a prohibition of right turns from Huntly Street, Aberdeen on to Union Street. An alternative route is available via Union Street, South Silver Street and Golden Square; Little Chapel Street, Aberdeen, from its junction with Chapel Street to a point 10 metres in an easterly direction from 09:00 on 4th July, 2022, until 17:00 on 5th July, 2022. An alternative route is available via Chapel Street, Huntly Street and Summer Street.

Access to properties will be maintained, but no through traffic will be possible.

There will also be a prohibition of waiting on either side on the following streets between 08:00 and 17:00 Mon-Sat; Chapel Street, Huntly Street, Little Chapel Street, Summer Street, Union Wynd, Aberdeen from 08:00 on 4th June, 2022, until 17:00 on 15th July, 2022.

Illegally parked vehicles will be removed at the owners expense.

The no-waiting restrictions will not be implemented for the full duration of the order and will only be implemented as and when required. The no-waiting restrictions will be demarcated by the use of no-waiting cones for no more than 100 metres at a time. Aberdeen City Council maintain the right to reduce this to 50m on any site should they see it as necessary to maintain public safety/access.
