Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
The effect of the order, which will operate from 04:00 on 09 August, 2021 until 17:00 on 29 August, 2021, is to impose a prohibition of driving on George Street, Aberdeen between its junctions with St Andrews Street and Hutcheon Street, Maberly Street, Aberdeen between its junctions with Ann Street and George Street, St Andrews Street, Aberdeen between its junctions with Charlotte Street and George Street. There will also be a prohibition of waiting on either side of George Street between St Andrews Street and Hutcheon Street for duration of works for any purpose. The no-waiting restrictions will be demarcated by the use of no-waiting cones. Illegally parked vehicles will be removed at the owners expense. The bus lane and one way restrictions will also be suspended on Charlotte Street, Aberdeen and John Street, Aberdeen. All traffic may travel in either direction on Charlotte Street and John Street. The restrictions are in the interests of public safety during the removal of the Covid, Spaces for People scheme.
