Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

The effect of the order is to impose a temporary prohibition of driving on the following streets;

Marchburn Avenue, Aberdeen, between its junction with Marchburn Crescent and the boundary between numbers 19 and 21 Marchburn Avenue from 08:00 on 20th October, 2020, until 17:00 on 21st October, 2020. An alternative route is available via Marchburn Crescent, Marchburn Road and Westerton Crescent, there will also be prohibition of waiting on either side of the same street; Marchburn Crescent, Aberdeen, between its junction with Marchburn Avenue and the boundary between numbers 61 and 63 Marchburn Crescent from 08:00 on 22nd October, 2020, until 17:00 on 23rd October, 2020. An alternative route is available via Marchburn Avenue, Marchburn Drive and Marchburn Road, there will also be prohibition of waiting on either side of the same street; Davidson Drive, Aberdeen, between its junction with Springhill Road and the gable end of number 106 Davidson Drive from 08:00 on 26th October, 2020, until 17:00 on 27th October, 2020. An alternative route is available via Springhill Road and Lintmill Terrace, there will also be prohibition of waiting on either side of the same street.

Access to properties will be maintained, but no through traffic will be possible.

There will also be a temporary one-way restriction on Springhill Road, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Smithyhaugh Road and Marchburn Drive from 08:00 on 24th October, 2020, until 17:00 on 25th October, 2020. The permitted direction of travel will be northbound only.

An alternative route is available via for southbound light vehicle traffic is via Smithyhaugh Road, Byron Crescent and Marchburn Drive, for southbound heavy goods vehicle traffic is via Provost Rust Drive, Granitehill Road, Quarry Road, Byron Avenue and Provost Fraser Drive.

The no-waiting restrictions will be demarcated by the use of no-waiting cones.

The measures are necessary to protect public safety during duct laying works being carried out by City Fibre.
