Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 62(1) of the Roads Scotland Act 1984

The effects of these Orders, which will operate on the dates and times as given below, are to ensure public safety is maintained during the St Andrews Day march and rally, the Aberdeens Christmas Lights Switch on events in the city centre, and the Cults Annual Christmas Carol event
One effect of the First Order is to impose prohibitions of driving during the above events.
On 24 November 2019, Victoria Street, Aberdeen, will be closed from 14:30 to 18:00 between its junctions with Albyn Place and Thistle Street. Albyn Place, Aberdeen, will be closed from 16:00 until 19:00 between its junctions with Alford Place and Albyn Grove.
From 17:00 to 19:00 on 24 November 2019 and again from 11:30 to 12:00 on 30 November 2019, the following streets will be closed: Union Street, Aberdeen, for its full length; King Street, Aberdeen, between East North Street and Castle Street; Castle Street, Aberdeen; Market Street, Aberdeen, between Union Street and Hadden Street; Back Wynd, Aberdeen, between Union Street and Little Belmont Street, St. Catherines Wynd, Aberdeen between its junctions with Netherkirkgate and Union Street; Bridge Street, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Wapping Street and Union Street. One effect of the Second Order is to suspend the one-way restriction on Exchequer Row and Shiprow, Aberdeen, from 17:00 until 19:00 on 24 November 2019.
From 17:00 to 19:00 on 24 November 2019 and again from 11:30 to 12:00 on 30 November 2019, the existing Access Only on Poultry Market Lane, Aberdeen, at its junction with Queen Street, shall be suspended for police, court and vehicles requiring access to adjacent premises.
From 17:00 until 19:00 on 24 November 2019, there will be a suspension of all waiting for any purpose, with the exception of any waiting Taxis, on the west side of Chapel Street, Aberdeen, north of the junction with Thistle Street for 53 metres or thereby. This is to provide a temporary Taxi rank. Also, there will be no waiting on either side of Little Belmont Street, Aberdeen, with the exception of any waiting Taxis, between 17:00 and 19:00 on 24 November 2019. This is to provide a temporary Taxi rank for this period.
From 17:00 to 19:00 on 24 November 2019, the one-way system on Chapel Street, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Thistle Street and Union Street, will be suspended and a one-way restriction will be in place on Chapel Street, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Thistle Street and Little Chapel Street. The direction of travel will be northbound only.
Between 16:00 on 23 November 2019, and 18:30, on 24 November 2019, Albyn Place, Aberdeen, and Victoria Street, Aberdeen, will be subject to waiting restrictions between Albyn Grove and Alford Place, except for vehicles associated with the Aberdeen City Council Christmas Lights Switch on event.
On 24 November 2019, between 17:00 and 19:00, the ban on right turns on the following roads will be temporarily suspended for service buses only: King Street, Aberdeen, onto West North Street; Union Street, Aberdeen, onto Bridge Street; Holburn Street, Aberdeen, onto Willowbank Road, and Skene Street, Aberdeen, onto Rosemount Viaduct.
From 17:45 to 20:00 on 2 December 2019, the slip road to numbers 322 to 328 North Deeside Road, Cults, Aberdeen, will be closed between that roads east and west junctions with North Deeside Road. There will also be a suspension of parking on the same stretch of road.

Alternative Route: A number of alternative routes will be available.
