Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 62(1) of the Roads Scotland Act 1984

The effect of the First Order is to impose a prohibition of driving on all the roads on the Schedule below from at the times stated on 24 August 2019.

Also 20:00 on 23 August 2019 until 05:00 on 26 August 2019, Broad Street, Aberdeen, will be closed between its junctions with Queen Street and Upperkirkgate.
The Second Order allows for the existing prohibitions of right turns from King Street, Aberdeen, on to West North Street, and from Holburn Street, Aberdeen, on to Willowbank Road to be suspended temporarily between 10:00 and 13:00 on 25 August 2019. At this time the existing prohibition of right turn from Skene Street, Aberdeen, onto Rosemount Viaduct, shall be suspended in respect of service buses. The one-way restriction on Exchequer Row, Aberdeen and Shiprow, Aberdeen, shall be suspended for the duration of this Order. Marischal Street, Aberdeen, will be one-way, northbound, for its whole length along with King Street, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Castle Street and West North Street.
There will be a suspension of all waiting for any purpose on the west side of Chapel Street, Aberdeen, north of the junction with Thistle Street for 53 metres or thereby, with the exception of Taxis. This is to provide a temporary Taxi rank during the closure of Union Street.
The one-way system on Chapel Street, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Thistle Street and Union Street, will be suspended between its junctions with Thistle Street and Little Chapel Street. The direction of travel will be northbound.
From 18:00 on 23 August 2019, until 13:00 on 24 August 2019, there will be a suspension of waiting on the north side of Albyn Place, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Carden Place and Rubislaw Place, except for vehicles associated with the Celebrate Aberdeen Parade. Also, on the north side of Queen Street, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Broad Street and Shoe Lane.
From 20:00 on 23 August 2019 until 13:00 on 24 August 2019, there will be a suspension of waiting for any purpose, including the disabled and motorcycle bays on Back Wynd, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Schoolhill and Little Belmont Street with the exception of any waiting Taxis. This is to provide a temporary Taxi rank for this period.

The measures are in the interests of safety: to allow the planned Celebrate Aberdeen Parade to take place safely.

Alternative Route: Various alternative routes shall be available.
