Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

The effect of the order, which will operate from 06:00 on 11 May, 2019, until 22:00 on 30 September, 2019, is to impose temporary restrictions as per the schedule below. The works will be carried out in phases, and each phase will not commence until the previous phase has been completed. Advance warning signs will be placed on street at least one week before each phase commences.

Phase 1 (approximately one week) Merkland Road East Lane will be closed at its junction with Merkland Lane, and Merkland Road East will be closed between Merkland Lane and the car park at number 130-144 Merkland Road.

Phase 2 (approximately two weeks) Merkland Road East will be closed between Ardarroch Road and the car park at number 130-144 Merkland Road. There will also be a prohibition of waiting on the same stretch of road.

Phase 3 (approximately one week) Merkland Road East will be closed between Ardarroch Road and the car park at number 130-144 Merkland Road, and Ardarroch Road will be one-way northbound between Merkland Road East and the entrance to Ardarroch Close. There will also be a prohibition of waiting on the same stretches of road.

Phase 4 (approximately three weeks) Ardarroch Road will be closed between Merkland Road East and Pittodrie Street, and also between Pittodrie Street and Pittodrie Place. There will also be a prohibition of waiting on the same stretches of road.

Phase 5 (approximately two weeks) Ardarroch Road will be closed between Pittodrie Street and Pittodrie Place, and also between its junction with Pittodrie Place and a point 15m in a northerly direction. There will also be a prohibition of waiting on the same stretches of road.

Phase 6 (approximately one week) Ardarroch Road will be closed between its junction with Pittodrie Place and a point 15m in a northerly direction, and Merkland Road East Lane will be closed at its junction with Merkland Lane.

Phase 7 (approximately two weeks) Ardarroch Road will be closed between Pittodrie Place and Linksfield Road. There will also be a prohibition of waiting on the same stretch of road.

Phase 8 (approximately two weeks) Ardarroch Road will be closed between Pittodrie Place and Linksfield Road, Linksfield Place will be closed at its junction with Linksfield Road, and Linksfield Road will be one-way eastbound between Linksfield Place and Ardarroch Road. There will also be a prohibition of waiting on the same stretches of road.

Phase 9 (approximately two weeks) Linksfield Place will be closed at its junction with Linksfield Road, Pittodrie Lane will be closed at its junction with Linksfield Road, and Linksfield Road will be one-way eastbound between King Street and Ardarroch Road. There will also be a prohibition of waiting on the same stretches of road.

Phase 10 (approximately two weeks) Orchard Street will be closed between King Street and the western boundary of number 4 Orchard Street, and Linksfield Road will be one-way eastbound between King Street and Pittodrie Lane.

The no-waiting restrictions will be demarcated by no-waiting cones, and Illegally parked vehicles will be removed at the owners expense. Access to properties will be maintained when possible. Alternative routes will be signed. The measures are necessary to protect public safety during gas main refurbishment works being carried out by SGN.
