Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in in terms of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order, which will operate from 15 December 2017 to 14 December 2018, will be to impose a prohibition of waiting at certain times on Bon Accord Street, Aberdeen, on its west side, from a point 12 metres or thereby south of its junction with Langstane Place, southwards for a distance of 23 metres or thereby. This measure will be in operation on any Friday, from 10pm through to 4am on the following Saturday, and on any Saturday from 10pm through to 4am on the following Sunday. This prohibition of waiting shall not apply for the picking up or setting down of passengers; to vehicles parked with the consent of the Council in direct association with authorised roadworks or building works; or to any vehicle being operated as a Safe Space vehicle by the charity Aberdeen Street Pastors (Scottish Charity Registration Number SC041912). This measure is in the interests of public safety and is associated with the operation of a Safe Space vehicle by the charity Aberdeen Street Pastors.
