Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers Under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order, which will come into operation from 08:00 on 6 August 2017, until 23:59 on 10 August, 2018, (thus continuing without pause from the preceding similar order), is to provide for the temporary amendment and variation of The Aberdeen City Council (Tillydrone /Old Aberdeen / Seaton / King Street Corridor / Beach Area, Aberdeen) (Area VII South) (Traffic Management) Order 2001. It provides in the main for various traffic management restrictions during events at Pittodrie Stadium, albeit this year there are a couple of additional measures that will apply at any time on any day; namely a prohibition of waiting on Accommodation Road and a parking bay for the exclusive use of coaches/buses on a certain length of the Beach Boulevard. Broadly, the temporary order confirms the existing time periods for waiting restrictions in relation to matches (or other events) at Pittodrie and various match day arrangements (Prohibition of driving / One-Way System). The roads concerned are Ardarroch Place, Ardarroch Road, Golf Road, King Street, Kings Crescent, Links Road, Linksfield Road, Merkland Lane, Merkland Place, Merkland Road, Merkland Road East, Park Road, Pittodrie Lane, Pittodrie Place, Pittodrie Street, Regent Walk, Seaforth Road, Spital, Unnamed Lane (Lying to the South of Merkland Road East) and Urquhart Road. Given the area and extent of restrictions concerned, it is only possible to provide a general description in this notice and so members of the public interested in knowing further detail are invited to e-mail trafficmanagement@aberdeencity.gov.uk or alternatively phone Tel. 01224 522678.
