Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order is to impose a temporary one-way system on Millburn Street, Aberdeen, between its junction with South College Street and Prospect Terrace, from 05:00 on 22 May, 2017, until 22:00 on 25 June, 2017. The permitted direction of travel will be westbound only. There will also be a one-way system on Palmerston Place, Aberdeen, between its junctions with South College Street and Palmerston Road, from 05:00 on 5 June, 2017, until 22:00 on 25 June, 2017. The permitted direction of travel will be eastbound only. There will also be a prohibition of waiting on the east side of South College Street, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Queen Elizabeth Bridge Roundabout and Palmerston Place, from 05:00 on 22 May, 2017, until 22:00 on 25 June, 2017. The parking restrictions will only be implemented as and when required, and will be demarcated by the use of no-waiting cones. The measures are necessary to protect public safety during traffic signal refurbishment works. An alternative route for eastbound vehicles on Millburn Street is available via Crown Street and Wellington Place. An alternative route for westbound vehicles on Palmerston Place is available via Palmerston Road, Poynernook Road, and Raik Road.
