Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order, is to impose a temporary prohibition of driving on Wellington Place, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Crown Street and South College Street from 08:00 on 27 May, 2017, until 22:00 on 28 May, 2017. Access to properties will be maintained, but no through traffic will be possible. There will also be a prohibition of waiting on the north side of Wellington Place, Aberdeen, between its junction with Crown Street and 40 metres in an easterly direction from 08:00 on 6 May, 2017, until 22:00 on 7 May, 2017 and from 08:00 on 27 May, 2017, until 22:00 on 28 May, 2017 and also on either side of Affleck Street, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Crown Street and Affleck Place from 08:00 on 11 May, 2017, until 22:00 on 12 May, 2017. The no-waiting restrictions will only be implemented as and when required, and will be demarcated by the use of no-waiting cones. The measures are necessary to protect public safety during duct laying works being carried out by City Fibre. An alternative route is available via College Street, Bridge Street, Union Street, Millburn Street and Crown Street.
