TellMeScotland is Scotland's national public information notices portal, allowing public notices to be published in a single online location. The website was launched on 20 December 2010, and 31 councils and 21 wider public sector organisations publish notices on the portal.

To date, four categories of notice have been published: General, Licensing, Planning and Traffic. These are published during the statutory notification period and can be viewed on a map and also notified by location-based text and email alerts. A fifth category will shortly be added: Councillor Surgeries.

The digital notification of Councillor Surgeries will support local democracy in Scotland and allow constituents to be directly notified where and when surgeries are arranged.

The first local authority to deploy this will be Argyll and Bute Council, which has enhanced its digital systems and processes to allow automatic data transfer in support of this process.

There is likely to be a short period of site downtime on the website on the morning of Friday 6 September 2019, until the new notice category is live.
