The 4-yearly community council elections are due to take place in October and arrangements to elect up to 400 community councillors have just got underway.
There is provision for 40 community councils in West Lothian. A full list of Community Councils can be found on West Lothian Council's website.
If you are interested in getting involved, you will have to complete a nomination form. Your name and address must appear in the electoral register for the community council area.
A nomination pack can be downloaded below. These are also available to collect from main council offices, www.westlothian.gov.uk or by telephoning 01506 281609 or emailing lorraine.mcgrorty@westlothian.gov.uk
The closing date for nominations is Thursday 19 September 2013.
