The Midlothian Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is that for a temporary period, to facilitate carriageway reconstruction works, Mauricewood Road will be closed from A701 Edinburgh Road to just past Boyd Orr Drive. The Order which has a maximum duration of 18 months has effect from 28 September 2015 and it is expected that the work will take about 7 weeks to complete. Pedestrian access will be maintained. Alternative routes for general vehicular traffic and buses will be via A701 Edinburgh Road, Belwood Road, Mauricewood Road.
