On 20/05/15 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them under Section 14(1) of The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, made the above-named Order, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on Saturdays and Sundays on the A713, Dalmellington/Carsphairn, Castle Douglas, (from a point 700m north of its junction with Route U759 Loch Doon Road, Dalmellington southwards to the south side of Polneskie Bridge, Carsphairn, Castle Douglas, a length of about 3km) for the purpose of facilitating road widening and carriageway resurfacing works.
The road widening and carriageway resurfacing works are weather dependent but works on this length of the A713 should start on Tue 26/05/15. From this date and when necessary, a convoy will be in operation until works have been completed and delays are likely.
The Order will come into operation at 08:30 hrs on Sat 30/05/15 and will remain in operation until 17:00 hrs on Sun 28/06/15 and will be implemented only when appropriate signs are displayed.
The A713 will be closed from a point 700m north of its junction with Route U759 Loch Doon Road, Dalmellington southwards to the south side of Polneskie Bridge, Carsphairn, Castle Douglas from;

Please note the convoy should operate between 12:00 hrs and 13:00 hrs as stated above, however, the operation of this convoy may be delayed for a short time due to operational constraints.
Vehicular access for all emergency services will be permitted at all times.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the closure period.
Alternative Route: Diverted traffic should proceed via A713 to St. John’s Town of Dalry, A702 to Thornhill, A76 to New Cumnock, B741 to Dalmellington and vice versa
